2014 Summer Art in the Park Kids Classes – Instructor Ronna Currier:  June 18 – Life Size Portrait ages 8-11, July 9 –  My Hand Portriat ages 5-8, and August 13 Watercolor Painting ages 8-11.  Instructor Pamela Schmidt: June 27 Making Bubbles, July 5 Art Rocks, and July 16 Beaded Napkin Rings. These six classes will be repeated at the Lake Chelan Fine Arts Festival August 15, 16, & 17!  Registration begins in May for these $5 classes.

2014 on August 15, 16, & 17 in Riverwalk Park in Chelan will showcase artists and their original works of art.  The venue will be surrounded by entertainment, a children’s area and special events .  The Lake Chelan Arts Council invites you to join us for the 5th Annual Fine Arts Festival.

Peace Pole Dedication - “May Peace Prevail on Earth”  IMGP0023

On Saturday, November 16, 2013, the Peace Pole in the pocket park on the corner of E Johnson Ave & N Columbia St was dedicated.  This natural sculpture of columnar basalt engraved with the phrase “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in eight laguages.  Pictured:  Larry Epstein, Hebrew; Mary Murphy, Tibetan; Mayor Bob Goedde, English; John Sirois, Okanagan Tirbes; Norma Gallegos, Spanish; Leland Yialelis, Greek; Gale Courtney, Polish; and Husam Alsarama, Arabic.  Rotarian Concie Luna rang a gong for each language read and made the Peace Poles happen in Chelan.
